Work Together

Jennica in warm conversation with a client outdoors

There are many reasons you might find your way here. You may have been referred specifically for TRE® or Neurogenic Yoga™, or you may be looking for a body-based way to work with trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, grief, or patterns in your nervous system that you want to understand more fully. You may be wanting to feel more at home in your body, more connected to your sexuality or relationships, or more rooted in the land.

You may also be here because you want a greater capacity to feel, respond, connect, and participate fully in your own life. You may be seeking more freedom in your body, or a deeper sense of aliveness. You may be curious about what becomes possible when you begin listening more closely to your true nature.

My private work is individualized and body-centered, with the nervous system informing how I understand and approach our work together. Some people come to learn a particular practice or modality. For others, our work draws from different approaches as something new becomes relevant or their interests deepen.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what kind of work you need. We can begin with what brings you here and discover together where the work wants to go.

Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises

TRE®

Online or in person

TRE® is a body-based practice that uses a series of simple exercises to activate the body's natural neurogenic tremoring mechanism. These involuntary tremors can help release muscular tension held throughout the body and support greater nervous system resilience.

TRE is used both as nervous system support and as an ongoing personal practice. People come to this practice for trauma recovery, during or after periods of chronic or acute stress, or when anxiety, tension, bracing, or heightened activation are showing up. Others are interested in TRE as a way of developing greater nervous system capacity and having a body-based practice they can use independently.

Neurogenic Yoga™

Movement, embodiment & neurogenic tremoring

Online or in person

Neurogenic Yoga combines yoga, breath, movement, and the body's natural tremoring response to offer another way into nervous system health and embodied practice.

I co-created Neurogenic Yoga in 2011 after seeing the possibility of bringing neurogenic tremoring into a practice that allowed for more movement, exploration, and relationship with the whole body.

You might choose Neurogenic Yoga because movement feels like a natural doorway for you, because you want to explore tremoring within a broader embodied practice, or simply because you are curious about what your body might show you when given the opportunity to move and respond more freely.

Somatic & Nervous System Work

When you want to work with what is happening, rather than choose a modality

Online or in person

Sometimes we understand our patterns long before our bodies stop living inside them.

You may know why you respond the way you do. You may have spent years in therapy, read the books, learned the language, and developed tremendous insight into yourself. And still, your body may brace, shut down, become overwhelmed, disconnect, or respond as though something from the past is happening now.

This is where working directly with the body and nervous system can offer something different.

My approach to trauma work begins with the understanding that the nervous system has been responding intelligently to the conditions it has encountered. Rather than trying to override those responses, we become curious about them. We pay attention to what your body does, what it anticipates, what helps it experience greater choice, and what allows it to become increasingly responsive to what is actually happening now.

Embodied Intimacy and Sexual Wellness

A more embodied relationship with intimacy, pleasure and desire

Online or in person

Our sexuality does not exist separately from our bodies, nervous systems, histories, or relationships.

I work with individuals and couples who want to explore intimacy, sensuality, pleasure, desire, boundaries, communication, sexual patterns, or simply what it means to feel more at home in themselves as embodied and sexual beings.

This work is grounded, shame-free, and responsive to where you actually are. You don't need to have a sexual “problem” to come here. You may be healing, rediscovering, questioning, wanting more, or becoming curious about a part of yourself that hasn't had much room before.

Nature-Based Work

Working with the body in relationship with the living world

In person in the San Diego area

The nervous system is always in relationship with its environment. Sometimes changing where and how we work allows us to notice things that are harder to access within four walls.

Nature-based sessions may include walking, movement, sensory awareness, orienting, conversation, stillness, embodied inquiry, or practices that deepen your relationship with a particular place and with the more-than-human world around you.

This isn't simply therapy that takes place outside. The landscape itself becomes part of what we are paying attention to.

Beginning together

Two people sharing a warm embrace outdoors in golden light

Every new client begins with a complimentary consultation. This gives us a chance to talk about what is bringing you in, what you are hoping for, and any questions you have about working together. From there, we can decide whether I am the right person for you and what kind of beginning makes sense.

Private sessions are available online and in person. Nature-based work is available in person in the San Diego area.
